Since her win in the Soundmixshow, at the age of 15, Doña Pessy hammered hard on the road. Ariola Records released her first single. She won talent contests in Germany and received a recording contract with Ariola Hansa, and acted a lot on German radio and television. She also worked with top-selling band Modern Talking, manager Peter Muller, producers Bernd Jost and Dieter Bohlen.
At that time, she travels a lot and participated in song festivals in Turkey (Cesme), Poland (Sopot), Romania and Indonesia. She toured in the Soviet Union and gave concerts in Moscow and Leningrad with the band Blue System.
Since that time she has worked with many different Duth producers as well: Fluitsma and Thijn, John van Katwijk, Bas van de Heuvel, Velibor Weller, Peter de Wijn, Team 3. She had recording contracts with Dino, Red Bullet, TWF. In 1997 she participated in the National Song Contest with the song “Before the clock strikes twelve” by John van Katwijk.
In the 90s (for three years) she was the co-front singer of The Bob Color Band from Amsterdam. This band was then most playing band of the Netherlands and did many tours in Belgium, Switzerland and Germany.
In the group Nasty (known by the No. 1 hit “A Moment”), she was the lead singer and she sang the song “Hold me”. They occurred at TMF Awards and they were in the Ahoy support-program to 3T (Michael Jackson cousins).
Se sang lead and backing-vocals for Alessandro Safina (Luna), Ilse de Lange and the trio Linda, Roos and Jessica (Ademnood, Alles Of Niets). She did loads of radio and television studio work, and among others, sang commercials.
Video clips: Doña (skin and hair), Nasty (Hold me), and Doña & Tony Scott (Admiral’s song for American football). Besides singing, she has done modeling work for eg Rothmans.
Since 2004, a Doña The Bald & The Beautiful duo with guitarist Niels Lang (known for the musical Jeans). She sings under the guidance of an electro-acoustic guitar repertoire that makes crossovers between pop and jazz. They also play dance classics that can be combined with orchestra band.
Doña because of Indian descent, she sings with the band and the Doña Gado’s Indian songs with “a wink to Doeloe Tempo”. These are they dressed in sarong and kebaya (traditional Indonesian dress). With Niels Lang constitutes a team that writes songs for her own band Doña Pessy Band.
In 2005, they Marcel Kapteijn a duet on “That’s why it’s Christmas” written, arranged and produced by Niels Hermes, keyboardist and composer of Ten Sharp.
Since recently she performs again with Bob Wiedijk in the Pessy Party Patrol and forms together with Niels Lang and DJ Floyd Hasselbaink the trio All Exclusive.
In the recent past has also performed with Doña several live bands, including Too Hot To Handle, Unit 7, Dance Trax. Currently, she performs regularly with her own successful formations.
